There was a big uproar three times in the JPC meeting on the Wakf Amendment Bill

New Delhi. There was a huge uproar in the Parliament on the Wakf (Amendment) Bill. In view of the increasing controversy and uproar, this bill was sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) of the Parliament. In the first meeting of this committee, there was uproar on three occasions. Amidst the uproar in the meeting, the BJP MP said that the amount of land that the Wakf has, two and a half Kuwait and one and a half Bahrain can be built. The Wakf Board has about 9 lakh acres of land in the country. According to sources, in the first JPC meeting, there was a lot of uproar one after the other. When BJP called Waqf land as land jihad, the opposition said that they are creating a wrong narrative. The second big uproar happened when Asaduddin Owaisi was presenting his side while protesting on various issues. Then in between, BJP MP Abhijit Ganguly kept commenting repeatedly that, why are you silent on land reversal? That is, if the government gets the Waqf land as per the rules, then what is the problem? Owaisi started a ruckus on this and the opposition also expressed its opposition.

The third uproar happened when BJP MP Brijlal compared the Waqf land with Kuwait and Bahrain. On which Nasir Hussain taunted and said that you people should not try to create such narratives. According to the 2011 census, there are 6 lakh 40 thousand villages in the country which must have increased now. Suppose every village has one acre of land for graveyard, one acre for Idgah and half an acre for a mosque, then also at the rate of two and a half acres per village, the land will be more than your figure. Therefore, do not create such narratives to spoil the communal atmosphere.
