Wakf Act Amendment: Government’s intention is to snatch Wakf properties: Owaisi

Hyderabad. The NDA government is preparing to amend the Wakf Act. Claims and counter-claims have also started in the country regarding this.
If sources are to be believed, a total of 40 amendments to the Waqf Act were approved in the cabinet meeting held on Friday, which will limit the powers of the Waqf Board once they are passed. Regarding this, MP Asaduddin Owaisi says that the amendments in the Waqf Act are being made with the intention of snatching away Waqf properties.
Sources reveal that the amendments approved by the Cabinet in the Waqf Act are aimed at limiting or restricting the right of the Waqf Board to designate any property as a Waqf property.
In this matter, Hyderabad MP and prominent AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi says that The Waqf Act amendment is being done with the intention of snatching away Waqf properties. This is a kind of attack on the right to religious freedom given by the Constitution. He has said in one of his statements that the RSS has always had the intention of snatching away Waqf properties.
More such statements have come forward in which the intentions of the government have been questioned and it is being said that there is no need for amendments in the Wakf Act at present and if there is, then it should have been discussed with the responsible people first. Why is there a need to create controversy like this?
