Supreme Court did not accept Kejriwal’s demand, he will have to go to jail on June 2

The Supreme Court has given a big blow to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor scam case. The court has refused the petition demanding extension of Kejriwal’s interim bail by seven days. While hearing this petition, the Supreme Court has said that the court has reserved the decision on the petition challenging Kejriwal’s arrest on May 17. On that day, the Supreme Court had allowed him to go to the lower court for regular bail. Therefore, the application for extension of interim bail by seven days cannot be heard.

The ED had arrested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor policy scam case of Delhi. Kejriwal has challenged the arrest. The Supreme Court had reserved the decision on this petition. However, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1 to campaign in the elections on the basis of certain conditions and ordered him to surrender and return to jail on June 2.
