Passengers will now get relief from long queues, new and easy check-in process – GulfHindi

Airports in the UAE see long queues each year during the summer holidays, especially when families go on vacation. But according to a senior airline executive, these queues could be reduced by about 25 per cent if more passengers check-in online or at alternative locations. Most alternative check-in methods are free.
How to avoid queues
If passengers check-in online and then report at the airport, their transaction will be “quite quick” at the self-service baggage drop kiosks. The airline is expecting to fly 2.6 million passengers from Dubai International Airport (DXB) during this peak travel rush period.
4 ways to avoid queues
1. Check-in online:
App or online check-in is the most popular among passengers, with nearly 50 percent using it. It opens 48 hours before the flight’s departure time.
2. Skip the bag on the first day:
Passengers can drop off their luggage 24 hours before departure (or 12 hours if flying to the US).
3. City Check-in Facilities:
At the city check-in facility located in DIFC, passengers can drop off luggage from 24 hours before to four hours before the flight. A 24-hour city check-in facility is also available at Ajman Central Bus Terminal.
4. Home Check-in:
Employees visit customers at their homes, hotels, or offices to complete the check-in process and load bags onto flights, allowing passengers to arrive later with only hand luggage.
Bag-Free Travel
Etihad Airways said it is expecting its “busiest summer ever”, with around five million passengers expected to arrive at Zayed International Airport between June and September. Home check-in service is available from Dh220.
