Migrants arriving in UAE started being stopped at the airport. Roundtrip flight tickets on the same flight have been made mandatory.

Warning for visa holders traveling to UAE

If you are travelling from India to UAE, make sure that your roundtrip tickets are booked on the same airline. Travel agents have given this warning citing advisories of some airlines.

Passengers face problems due to booking on different airlines

Some passengers faced problems travelling to UAE as their return journey was booked on a different airline.

“According to some airlines advisories, if a trip to the UAE is booked on an airline, the return trip should also be booked on the same airline,” Taha Siddique, director of Siddique Travels, told Khaleej Times.

Recommendations by travel agents

“Many of my clients faced this problem as their Dubai ticket was on one airline and return on another airline. I am now advising my clients to book both legs on the same carrier,” Siddique said.

This suggestion has been echoed by other travel agents as well. “I’ve also seen advisories from some carriers that they won’t accept people with tickets on different airlines,” said Noushad Hassan, managing director of Alhind Business Centre.

stringent scrutiny

Advisory has been issued on tickets after strict checks at airports in Dubai. Some passengers are being sent back due to not meeting the requirements.

“We saw up to 40 passengers being sent back on a single flight,” Noushad said.

According to a report by Khaleej Times, UAE travellers will need to carry the equivalent of Dh3,000 in cash or credit card and show certified accommodation, such as a hotel booking or a letter from the host including a copy of their Emirates ID.

travel demand increased

Bharath Aidasani, managing partner at Pluto Travels, said, “More people are travelling to UAE because of the heat in India. UAE is the closest and ideal destination from any part of India.”

Checking important documents

Travel agents are now advising their passengers to ensure they have all the required documents before travelling. Mir Waseem Raja, manager at International Travel Services, said, “In the last two days, we have received some passengers who were denied boarding passes at Indian airports.”

“We have noticed an increase in the number of travellers who are being stopped at airports for not having the required amount of money or proof of accommodation in the country,” says Libin Varghese.
