Jabalpur. Police arrested two absconding accused of Kakku Punjabi murder case which happened seven years ago. Patwaris went on strike accusing the MLA of assault. The forest department is on alert mode to protect wild animals from harassment on Nag Panchami. A youth died due to electric shock while plugging in a TV in village Hirapur Bandha under Bhedaghat police station.

After 7 years, the murder accused on the bounty was caught by the police
The Kotwali police arrested two absconding accused of the double murder of famous Congress leader Raju Mishra and Kakku Punjabi, which took place 7 years ago at Parijata Building, Cherrytal Road, near Maharajpur bypass at 2 am on Thursday night. Both of them were medically examined in Victoria in the morning and then they were produced before the court. The court handed over the accused on two-day police remand. The SP and IG had announced a reward of Rs 30,000 on these two accused.
On 4 January 2017, Vijay Yadav and his gang members fired bullets and attacked Congress youth leader Raju Mishra and Kakku Punjabi, who had been released from jail a few days ago, with bombs, killing Raju Mishra and Kakku Punjabi. The main accused in this case, Vijay Yadav, was killed in an encounter by Narsinghpur police, in which Vijay Yadav and his associate Sameer were killed. While three accused were acquitted and four accused were sentenced to double life imprisonment. Two accused in this murder case, Adesh Soni and Binnu Vishwakarma, were absconding. Last night, the police arrested both of them before they could enter Jabalpur near Maharajpur bypass. The special team of Kotwali police was following them and received information that both the accused were going to come to Jabalpur before the festival. During their escape, both the accused were absconding by staying in many cities of Maharashtra including Mumbai, Nagpur, Shirdi, Amritsar. To earn a living, these people were working in private places. After arresting both the accused, the police took them to Victoria Hospital for treatment. After getting a checkup done from the district hospital, they were presented before the court. From here, the Kotwali police took them on remand. The accused will be questioned on various points related to the incident.
The case of assault on the Patwari took a serious turn

The case of a Patwari being allegedly assaulted in the office of a BJP MLA on Thursday took a serious turn on Friday. The Patwari who was assaulted has submitted his resignation to the collector. The other Patwaris have gone on strike. The MLA says that the Patwari had a dispute with some people over a transaction of Rs 4 lakh. Some boys assaulted him. The MLA has nothing to do with this matter. It is worth noting that on Thursday, an incident of assault on Patwari Praveen Singh was reported in front of Metro Hospital in Damohanaka. After which, on Friday, the Madhya Pradesh Patwari Association submitted a memorandum to Collector Deepak Saxena in support of Patwari Praveen Singh. Patwari Praveen Singh has also submitted his resignation to the collector. The Patwaris allege that this assault took place at the behest of the MLA. The Patwaris have gone on a two-day strike demanding action against those who assaulted him. The collector has directed the police to investigate the complaint.
More than a dozen snake charmers were arrested

Nag Panchami was celebrated in the district on Friday, devotees offered prayers. On the other hand, the staff of the forest department remained active in the entire district by forming teams to prevent cruelty to snakes. The forest department has formed different teams at the range level to catch snake charmers. By noon, the patrol team had caught about a dozen snake charmers. General Forest Division Officer Rishi Mishra said that this year the flying squad has been made more effective with the help of Forest Protection Committee and Village Forest Committees. On the occasion of the festival, all the senior officers of the division are themselves conducting surprise inspections during patrolling. Mr. Mishra said that catching snakes and displaying them is a crime under the Indian Wildlife Protection Act 1972. There is a provision of strict punishment for violating its sections and sub-sections. Snakes get injured while being caught by snake charmers, their fangs break and they are unable to protect themselves, due to which many snakes also die. Inciting someone to catch and display snakes also falls under the category of equivalent crime. The regional staff of the forest department is giving advice to the general public.
Young man died due to electric shock
A young man died due to electric shock while plugging in a TV in village Hirapur Bandha under Bhedaghat police station. The young man was taken to medical hospital for treatment where the doctor declared him dead after checking him. A case was registered and investigation was taken up. Bhedaghat police said that Pawan Sahu, a resident of village Hirapur Bandha, got electric shock while plugging in the TV at home. His family took him to medical hospital for treatment.
