Houthi rebels attacked two ships

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have attacked two ships. Ships on the international trade route in the Red Sea have been targeted since the Israel-Hamas conflict began. According to British and US officials, three small ships of Houthi rebels have targeted the Panama-flagged and Israeli-owned MT Bentley I ship near Yemen’s Al Hudaydah coast, according to media reports. Of the three Houthi ships, only two had crew members while one was an unmanned ship.

The British military said the Houthi unmanned ship hit them twice while two crewed Houthi ships opened fire on their ship. The ship took protective measures and the attacks stopped after 15 minutes. The captain later reported that three missiles were fired in a series of attacks that fell near the ship. Later, in a separate incident off the same coast, an unmanned Houthi drone attacked the Liberian-flagged ship MT Chios Lion, owned by the Marshall Islands and carrying oil tankers. Both ships and all crew members are reported to be safe. Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for the attacks on the Bentley I and Chios Lion.
