Historical moment: After the success of Chandrayaan 3, EOS 8 will be launched on August 15


New Delhi. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch its new satellite on 15th August. At 9:17 AM, SSLV-D3 rocket will take EOS-8 satellite into space from Sriharikota. This will be the third and last flight of SSLV rocket. ISRO has given this information. ISRO said that the purpose of EOS-8 mission is to make small size satellites (microsatellites), test new equipment and try new technologies for future satellites.
Special things related to EOS-8 satellite

- The EOS-8 satellite will orbit the Earth at an altitude of 475 km in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its inclination will be 37.4 degrees and it will operate for one year.
- The satellite weighs 175.5 kg and produces about 420 watts of power.
- The EOIR camera on the satellite will take images both during day and night. These images will be used for disaster management, environmental monitoring, fire detection and observing volcanic activity.
- The EOS-8 satellite is equipped with a special type of avionics system called CBSP package. It can perform many tasks in a single unit. This system has the capacity to store 400 GB of data.
- The EOS-8 satellite uses X-band technology for data transmission. This satellite uses a new technology for battery management called SSTR.
