The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced another chance to those who violate visa rules. This visa amnesty program, starting from 1 September 2024, will run for two months. During this time, those whose visa status is not right can get their visa corrected without any fear or leave the country without penalty.
Relief was also given in 2018
The UAE had earlier run a similar program in 2018, which benefited thousands of people. At that time too, visa violators were given a chance to improve their situation or leave the country.
This program, which started for 90 days, was later extended till December 2018. Many people took advantage of this opportunity to correct their employment and residency status. One woman was even able to return to her country and get married after her visa overstay fine was waived.
A chance for a new beginning
This new visa amnesty program will give those who violated the visa rules for some reason a chance to have a fresh start. They will also get a chance to meet their family and friends again.
