After the murder of a youth in Shamli, the police filed an FIR against about half a dozen journalists and youth for presenting the side of the victim’s family on social media. A youth has been arrested in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh for waving the Palestinian flag. It is worth noting that during the oath taking ceremony in the Parliament recently, AIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi had raised the slogan ‘Jai Palestine’, after which the Palestine dispute has become a topic of discussion even in BJP ruled states. The latest case is from Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh, where a person has been arrested for waving the Palestinian flag along with the Indian flag during the Muharram procession, the search for one is on.
The Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday arrested a man for hoisting a Palestinian flag during a Muharram procession in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi district, a procession taken out on the highway that was not authorised by the government police. A video of the procession, which showed the Palestinian flag along with the Indian flag, went viral on social media platforms. According to Sachchidanand Pandey, Station House Officer (SHO) in-charge of Orai police station, Sahil and Gorakh have been identified as the main accused. Sahil has been arrested and the police are currently searching for Gorakh.
