Had the accused been a Muslim, NSA would have been imposed within 6 hours: Mateen, Ishtiaq said double standards will not be tolerated in the proceedings.

Senior Congress leader Mateen Ansari said, “When the administration has to impose NSA on a Muslim, the entire process from finding the accused to imposing NSA and throwing him in jail is completed in 6 hours. But when the accused is not a Muslim, even a crime committed in front of hundreds of people is not enough for NSA.”
Congress leader Mateen Ansari, former councilor Ishtiaq Ansari, Assu Khan, Yawar Chaudhary, Mukhtar Ansari along with other colleagues reached the Superintendent of Police office. Here they submitted a memorandum demanding NSA against those who raised provocative slogans and used abusive language on loudspeaker in front of Jama Masjid of Jabalpur Sadar on 25th August.

Mateen Ansari told the police officials, “The tradition of Sanskardhani has been of peace and tranquility, but such communal rallies and their viral videos are bringing disgrace to the entire Sanskardhani from the state to the country. How an attempt was made to spoil the communal atmosphere here openly with DJs and boxes in the presence of the police administration is not hidden from anyone.”
Here former councillor of Dr. Zakir Hussain ward Ishtiyak Ansari said That “The administration is adopting double standards in communal incidents. If strict action is not taken against the culprits and only a formality is done in the name of action, then every citizen of the city who believes in peace, love and brotherhood will be forced to take to the streets.”

Former councillor Ishtiaq Ansari further said, “All communities have equal status in our country. In this way, making communal comments on a particular community, using communal language openly and spoiling the peaceful atmosphere of the city is a serious crime. Strict action should be taken against this. This should set an example so that such an incident does not happen again in future.”
