Airlines have issued guidelines for Indian passengers going to Dubai. Now 7 documents will be checked as soon as you land at the airport.
An Air India Express spokesperson confirmed to the media that they have advised passengers to carry valid passports, return tickets, accommodation details and financial proofs.
SpiceJet directions
According to a circular issued by SpiceJet, passengers have been warned to carry all the documents and that “absence of documents may lead to deportation.”
Attitude of Indian and Dubai travel agents
Travel agents based in India and Dubai told the media that they have received such advisories from several airlines. Taha Siddiqui, owner of Siddique Travels, said, “We have received such circulars from SpiceJet, Air India and other airlines so that passengers can travel with all the necessary documents and funds.”
Boarding denied due to lack of documents
According to a circular shared by SpiceJet with agents, “Passenger in the absence of documents will be denied boarding on the flight and all associated charges will be passed on to the ticketing agency.”
Responsibilities of travel agents
Bharath Ayidasani, managing partner, Pluto Travels, said, “If entry is denied to the UAE, it is the airline’s responsibility to repatriate the passenger, and that is why they are conducting stringent checks before issuing boarding passes.”
Document checking at check-in counters
Firoz Maliakkal, Founder and CEO, Tahira Tours and Travels, said, “Passengers’ documents are checked by airline officials at the check-in counters. If the documents are not available, passengers may be sent back or asked to obtain the documents.”
