Bhopal: On the conclusion of ‘Kya Hua Tera Wada Abhiyan’ by Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress, the Chief Minister’s residence was cordoned off in the capital Bhopal under the leadership of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress President Mitendra Darshan Singh Yadav, in which more than 25 thousand Youth Congress officials and Congress workers carrying 4.5 to 5 lakh postcards from across the state participated in the Chief Minister’s residence siege program.
At the behest of the government, the police administration erected 7 layers of barricades near Roshanpura crossing to stop the convoy of senior Congress leaders and Youth Congress workers. As soon as the Youth Congress broke the first layer, the police started chasing away the workers by using water cannons. The police also fired tear gas shells and resorted to brutal lathicharge, in which many workers were injured.
When state Congress president Jitu Patwari climbed the barricade, the police used water cannon. Due to the water pressure, Patwari fell down and got injured. The police took into custody hundreds of workers including Congress leaders who were gheraoing the Chief Minister’s residence.
