The Supreme Court, after hearing the case on Friday, has upheld the decision of interim stay on the order. The Yogi government of UP gave many arguments in favor of the name plate order in the court, but the Supreme Court did not accept a single argument. While upholding the order, the Supreme Court said that we cannot force to write the name. After hearing the arguments of the Yogi government, the Supreme Court has asked the Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments to file their reply within 1 week. The Supreme Court said, ‘Our order is clear.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the lawyer of the petitioner against the name plate order, said that I received UP’s reply on Saturday morning. On the other hand, lawyer Mukul Rohatgi from UP said that UP has filed its reply. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh said that this did not happen in their state, only Ujjain Municipal had issued it but no pressure was put on them.

How did the UP government justify it

During the hearing of the case, the UP government said that it should be heard on Monday, otherwise it will be meaningless. After this, the petitioner’s lawyer said that in the reply, the UP government has accepted that we have discriminated even if it was for a short time. Lawyer Rohatgi said that asking to write the owner’s name on the board is not only fair, but also a legal requirement. The court has given a one-sided order, with which we do not agree.

At the same time, the lawyer of Uttarakhand said that it is wrong to say that there is no law to display the name of the owner. The Uttar Pradesh government said that we should also respect the food choice of Shiva devotees Kanwadis.
