Israel is misusing power, it must vacate illegal occupation soon

Geneva. The war between Israel and Hamas continues in Gaza. Thousands of innocent Palestinians have been killed and hundreds injured in this war but still Israel is not refraining from targeting relief camps. Amidst all this, the International Court has given a big blow to Israel. The International Court of Justice has said in its decision that Israel has been illegally occupying Palestinian areas for many decades. This should be ended as soon as possible. Israel occupied the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip after defeating the Arab countries in 1967. The court has made this comment regarding these areas.

The International Court said that Israel is misusing its power. It has taken away the rights of Palestinians. Along with this, the court said that Israel is violating international laws. It should compensate the Palestinians for occupying these areas for so many years. Presiding judge of the International Court, Nawaf Salam said that Israel should give up its occupation.

This decision of the International Court of Justice is an advice. Israel cannot be forced to accept it. However, Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour has expressed happiness over this decision and thanked the court. At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected this decision. He said that the Jewish people have not occupied the land of the Palestinians.

Amidst the war with Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthi rebels are now attacking Israel. A massive explosion took place in Tel Aviv, in which one person died. At least 10 people were injured. During this, many buildings were also damaged. After this attack, security was tightened. Houthi rebels have repeatedly warned Israel to stop attacks in Gaza. It is clear from these attacks that they can increase Israel’s problems in the coming days. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Rafah crossing in Gaza and talked about maintaining Israel’s control over the entire Gaza-Egypt border. He said that even after the ceasefire agreement, Israel will continue to occupy the Rafah crossing on the border between Egypt and Gaza.
