All security agencies should increase coordination among themselves to control terrorists: Home Minister


New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with the heads of defense and law enforcement agencies. In the meeting, Shah emphasized on the coordination of all agencies to eliminate terrorist networks and their supporting eco-system. The Home Minister has instructed the heads of security agencies, including intelligence and enforcement agencies across the country, to adopt the government’s approach towards national security.
While reviewing the overall internal security situation of the country and the fight against terrorism, the Home Minister asked all the participants to enhance their participation in the Multi Agency Centre and make it a cohesive platform that brings together all law enforcement agencies, anti-drugs agencies, cyber security and intelligence agencies for decisive and prompt action. The Home Minister said that the MAC has earned the trust of its constituents and it must continue to function 24X7 as a platform for sharing pro-active and real time actionable information among multiple stakeholders including last responders.
Shah emphasized on creating a team of young, technically skilled and dynamic officers from all agencies involved in national security to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem by using big data and AI or ML driven analytics and technological advancements. He reiterated that we have to always be one step ahead in our response in view of new and emerging security challenges. Shah said that under the leadership of PM Modi, the MAC framework is set to implement major technological and operational reforms to increase its reach and effectiveness. He called upon all stakeholders to take these efforts forward.
