Administration should stop the conversion of Muslim girls, only then mass marriages will be stopped: Maulana Tauqeer Raza

Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC) chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan has said that the mass marriage program scheduled for July 21 will be cancelled only if the administration stops the conversion of Muslim girls. He has said that the program proposed on July 21 has not been postponed. It is hoped that the administration will give us permission.

Maulana has demanded that those who have converted Muslim girls and married them should also be investigated and action should be taken against them. Until we get this assurance, we cannot postpone our program. However, he has also said that if we do not get permission, we will not do anything against the law.

In a statement issued on Wednesday night, Maulana said that the letter to postpone the program was issued without our recommendation. He alleged that the administration had assured action on our various demands, so the officials issued the letter to postpone the program. However, the administration did not take any action on our demands later.
