Pune Customs stopped a passenger coming from Dubai
A passenger arriving from Dubai was stopped at Pune airport on the basis of profiling. The maintenance team searched the passenger’s seat and some other places in the plane.

Gold paste found hidden in the pipe under the seat
During the search, a packet of gold paste was found hidden in a pipe under the passenger seat.

1088.30 grams of 24k gold recovered
Upon extracting the gold paste, 1088.30 grams of 24k gold was recovered, which was valued at Rs 78.01 lakh.

Passenger arrested, investigation underway
Pax has been arrested. Pune Customs said further investigation is underway.

Based on profiling, one pax arriving from Dubai was intercepted. His seat along with a few other spots in the aircraft were searched. During the search, a packet of gold paste was found concealed in the pipe under the seat where he was sitting. After extraction, 24k gold was retrieved weighing 1088.30 grams valued at Rs. 78.01 lakhs. The pax is arrested. Further investigation is under progress: Pune Customs
