Their companion Saddam Qureshi was found seriously injured and was admitted to a hospital. Qureshi died during treatment at a hospital here on June 18.

This incident happened when the three were travelling from Mahasamund to Raipur in a truck loaded with cattle (buffaloes). The three youths hailing from Uttar Pradesh were found under the bridge on Mahanadi in Arang area while their truck loaded with buffaloes was found on the bridge. After this incident of attack, Arang police had registered a case against unknown people under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The police had formed a 14-member special team led by Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kirtan Rathore to investigate the case and trace the accused. Police said the special team has identified some more suspects and is trying to trace them.
